Ponatinib 45mg tablet is used in the treatment of adults with leukemia (cancer of the white blood cells). It is used to treat the different stages of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), namely chronic, accelerated, and blast phases. It is also used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in certain patients who are‘Philadelphia-chromosome positive’, which means those patients whose genes have rearranged themselves to form another special type of a chromosome called‘Philadelphia-chromosome’. This chromosome leads to the development of Leukaemia.
