Breast Cancer
Everolimus 5mg tablet is used for the prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients. It may also be used to treat certain types of cancer (breast, kidney, lung, pancreatic, intestine, brain, etc.). This medication must be taken as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. This medicine is included in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors that treat cancer by stopping cancer cells and cutting off blood supply to the cancer cells.
Description
Everolimus inhibits growth factor-stimulated proliferation of hematopoietic cells and non-hematopoietic cells e.g.- vascular smooth muscles. This medicine is used to prevent the rejection of an organ transplant.
It regulates the body’s immune response, so the body can accept the new organ. This medicine is used in the treatment of breast cancer, patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma, progressive neuroendocrine tumors of pancreatic origin with unresectable, patients suffering from a renal angiomyolipoma, neuroendocrine tumors of pancreatic, a low-grade brain tumor and tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
